Troop K, the largest troop in the PA State Police, is currently experiencing a rapid personnel increase due to assuming patrol of all major highways within the Philadelphia city limits.
The existing 1950’s facility currently houses approximately 120 personnel and will grow to over 200 troopers and support staff within a few months. The facility will need to expand to incorporate additional staffing and expanding State Police technologies.
The masterplan explored expansion alternatives addressing budgetary, programmatic, technological, and security needs for the Troop. Development options were addressed on critical logistical requirements that maintained operations while accomplishing project objectives over a phased approach.
Project services performed by Tim Lisle, AIA, partner with Jacobs/Wyper, while Managing Principal with L. Robert Kimball & Associates.
