The RESNET Project at Penn was multi-year program to wire very room in student resident halls for data, voice and video, with the goal to provide interconnectivity to the 7,500 students living on the campus. This work was an extension of the PennNet project that created a comprehensive data communications network that connected every building with a fiberoptic backbone. The RESNET project provides each room with live cable TV, Ethernet high speed networking and phone service.
Jacobs/Wyper provided pathway planning and documentation services for work that extended to 2 million square feet of space.

- 16 major residential buildings
- 12 academic buildings
- 24 fraternities and sororities
Technology
- 4 pair UPT
- Initially 10Base-T standard for 10 Mbs and the proposed open standard for 100 Mbs and beyond.
- Single coax cable for video
