Jacobs/Wyper Architects, LLP, an architectural, planning and interior design firm, was founded in 1981 by Terry Jacobs and Jamie Wyper. The original practice was based on our passion and expertise with solar residential architecture. Over the past 25 years the firm has evolved into larger and more complex projects for corporate, educational and institutional clients. These projects are always culturally specific to our client’s organizations and frequently technically complex.
We are a professional organization in service to our clients. Our services involve design, problem solving and management of changes to our clients' facilities to meet their institutional goals and expectations.
The firm today has four principals, two associates and a total staff fluctuating between 24 and 36 employees. We collaborate with external consulting engineers on all projects, believing that we can build the best team for a project by matching its requirements with the best-demonstrated engineering experience and skill. The firm is registered in 14 states and works primarily in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the country. We have completed projects as far afield as Texas, Oklahoma, Nevada and China for clients who are locally based.
As the firm has grown, our original interest in environmentally sensible building practice has remained as a fundamental aspect of the design discourse of the office. We have recently expanded our interest with the accreditation of several architects by the US Green Building Council as LEED professionals, and we are working on projects in adherence with the USGBC's LEED Rating System.
Jacobs/Wyper Mission Critical Facilities is a new design focus lead by Tim Lisle, AIA addressing assessment, program planning and integrated design of Emergency Communications Centers, EOC's and other essential facilities. The following provides detailed information regarding the Mission Critical Facilities group.
